Display of Frequency Monitoring Codes (FMC)

Hello everyone,

since the extended trial operation for the Frequency Monitoring Codes (FMC) in a total of four FIS sectors started on 16 April 2026 (running until 29 October 2026), I have a suggestion for a useful UI feature.

Would it be possible to display the respective Monitoring Squawk directly alongside the frequency information for the FIS sectors?

Best regards and Always Happy Landings!

Philipp

Hi Philipp,

Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ll look into whether this can be implemented cleanly. I think that’s a great idea!

Happy flying

Hi everyone,

I assume you’re talking about the transponder code when you say “squawk.” And in Germany this would be predefined for four FIS sectors. Sorry if I’m confused and misunderstood.

In France this code is not fixed for a given region. It is assigned in flight by the controller over the radio. It varies depending on both the type of aircraft and the region.

When leaving one sector to enter another, the assigned code is often kept, or sometimes changed. It depends on the new area entered.

Also, I’m having trouble understanding how to display a predefined squawk in the app. It seems to me that would only work for Germany? It should be left blank for countries where it doesn’t apply.

(Sorry again if I didn’t understand the original topic.)

Have a good flight.
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

yes — this is something that is currently being tested in certain areas in Germany: a dedicated squawk for FIS.

In other countries this would, of course, not be displayed.

All right then.

Thanks!
