Feature request - Left/Right of Track and switchable units

Hi,

I’ve been flying a lot with VFRnav recently and have two more improvement suggestions.

  1. an optional display (like the Airbus ND) indicating how far left/right of track you are. This is particularly useful when flying with multiple aircraft.

  2. At the top bar (see attached image) it would be useful if tapping it could change the unit, e.g. from km (kilometres) to nm (nautical miles). Default setting km — tapping it would then show the distance in nm and vice versa. That would be especially handy for radio communications.

  3. Is a display field for the current height above ground (AGL) planned?

Regards and have a great start to the new flying year :man_raising_hand:

Hello @Ste,

welcome to the forum.

  1. Unfortunately the image cannot be opened. Do you perhaps mean a CDI display (Course Deviation Indicator)?
  2. The units of the info fields follow the settings of the selected aircraft, but can also be changed quickly by pressing and holding. Is this what you need?
  3. The altitude field can, as in point 2, be switched between MSL (mean sea level) and AGL (above ground level).

Hello Hermann,

thank you for pointing out that this feature already exists.

I’m posting the image here again.

Hello Stephan,

Thanks for the picture. :ok_hand:

What is the unit of the number?

Do you know what this function is called?

Pilot’s regards

Hermann

Hello Hermann,

The units on the Airbus are miles. If the feature were to be implemented in VFRnav, it would certainly make sense to make this configurable. So: km/miles

This is the cross-track error
