# How do I install VFRnav on my device?

VFRnav is available for Android and iOS devices and compatible with all reasonably up-to-date devices. For more detailed requirements, see the “System Requirements” section.

## **System Requirements**

#### **Android**

- Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher
- At least 3 GB of RAM recommended
- GPS receiver (internal or external)
- For online features: Internet connection via Wi-Fi or mobile data

#### **iOS**

- iOS 15 or later
- Compatible with iPhone and iPad
- Built-in GPS functionality or external receiver (e.g. SkyEcho, Stratux, AirConnect)

> **Note on iPad compatibility**
> 
> Please note: iPad models without a SIM card slot (so-called _Wi-Fi-only_ variants) do _not_ have an integrated GPS receiver and are therefore unsuitable for navigation. For reliable navigation with VFRnav, an external GPS receiver is required in this case.

## **Installation and First Steps**

#### **Android**

1. Open the [Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flugbetrieb.VFRnav&hl=de).
2. Search for **“VFRnav”**.
3. Tap **Install**.
4. Launch the app and grant the required permissions.

#### **iOS**

1. Open the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/de/app/vfrnav-flight-navigation/id1553754024?l=en-GB).
2. Search for **“VFRnav”**.
3. Tap **Get**.
4. Launch the app.
