Approach charts are not displayed

Hello,

I have a tablet (S9FE) in the ultralight (UL) that hasn’t been displaying the approach charts for some time. I have the same tablet at home with VFRNAV installed there as a backup. On that device the approach charts are displayed correctly. Is there any parameter I might have accidentally configured incorrectly? For example: are they all set to transparent? (There is also no dashed outline). Deleting and re-importing the approach charts made no difference. I haven’t tried reinstalling VFRNAV yet; that would be my next step unless someone has a simpler idea.

Thanks and regards
Maik

Hi,

In the map view, click on the map settings on the right. Are they perhaps disabled there?

Hello,

Many thanks — I’ll take a look at it shortly.

Best regards
Maik

Hello Maik,

  1. Regarding transparency, did you tap the cog in the top right corner and use the slider to change the transparency?
  2. Settings → Services ● Approach charts → click on a chart here. …is the chart loaded/displayed?
    • select the same chart on the three dots → edit → save.
    • is this chart now displayed?
  3. Android: Apps → search for VFRnav → Storage → Cache (clear) ….that would really be rare!

Hello,

Many thanks, I’ll give it a try.

:+1:…otherwise please try installing a completely new approach chart from the AIP via VFRnav. (just as a test.)

You say that you use your own base maps. There may be a connection🤔

Safe flying,

Karsten

Hello,

Unfortunately I could only get to the airfield today to check the settings. And indeed — embarrassingly — the approach plates had been disabled in the settings…

I had only looked in the settings accessible from the main menu.

Maik
