Line color for TMA Class E D A

Hello,

Could you explain how the color of TMAs is chosen according to their class E, D or A?

I’m having an issue with the TMA Paris 1 3500 FL115 which is in red (A) whereas it should be in blue (E or D).

In the attached screenshot, to the west of Paris, see the yellow cross for the click position, and the expected blue color.

Have a good flight,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

Thank you very much for the heads-up. I was able to reproduce the incorrect display of the airspace you showed.

This will be corrected in the upcoming map update :flexed_biceps: :+1:

Hermann

Hi Hermann,

I’m glad you were able to identify the problem.

For your information, when updating the map earlier this week, TMA1 appeared with a red line and a blue line superimposed. I had concluded that it was fixed, but on the second launch of the app there was only the red line. I then realized it was a bit more complicated :upside_down_face:

Thanks to you :hand_with_fingers_splayed:

Apart from this particular point, if I understand correctly in general:

  • TMA in blue indicates a type E TMA
  • D in blue indicates a type D TMA
  • But again, a TMA shown in blue can also be type A  which should be red.

Is it possible for you to indicate the TMA type? Like for the D, for example.

Have a good flight!

Also here, it should be E (blue) instead of A (red)

Updated map sets for France were released today.

@Daniel.FR, please give them a try :grinning_face:

Many thanks and best regards
Hermann

Hello Hermann,

That looks really good. Thank you so much!

I tested for 30 minutes — it’s great to have the TMA type  and all over France!

I’ll take a few hours this weekend to test it thoroughly and will give you feedback.

(N.B. for those who load the maps, you need to update, then quit the app and reload it to make the new maps operational.)

Thanks again, Hermann :flexed_biceps: :+1:

Have a good flight!

Many thanks @Daniel.FR for the feedback!

Blue skies

…back

After a more thorough check, all the “Paris” and “Seine” zones look fine.

I found a section that puzzles me regarding “ TMA le Bourget 1” and “ TMA Beauvais 1”

Does the orange-colored part exist or is it a vector anomaly ?? This round shape is surprising. And the two zones overlap even though they have the same floors and ceilings… weird… it doesn’t make sense.. it’s probably a chart error.

I know a major update is due to be released in April. I thought it was next week. Is this the new update you’ve already taken into account ?

Daniel

In addition to the message above, if you could show Type A TMAs in white letters on a red background in the lists, that would be great too. :innocent:

Yes, I’ve already taken care of that :slightly_smiling_face:
However, that couldn’t be done via a map update — the change is included in the next program update.

Still, thanks a lot for the tip! It’s great how attentive you are with your feedback :+1::+1:

In Germany there is no Class A airspace, so I personally hadn’t noticed that before

Great!

I once flew around Paris, so I know the topic a bit.

But I picked a day with foggy weather… there was no wind, good idea… I didn’t see Paris at all! :ghost:

Did you also see the previous report for Beauvais and Bourget? (TMA 2 as well)

Something’s not right.

Have a look at the pictures I’ve attached here. I think that’s how it should be, but I don’t have the new chart from SIA-France yet. Unfortunately they’re marked as delayed. Wait and see!

Bye :hugs:

Yes, I’ve got that on my list.

The circular arc is going the wrong way (from the lower point around to the right instead of to the left).

(the green line would be correct)

This has already been noted internally. I’d like to wait for the airspace changes next week, as there may be some changes coming.

OK so for now it hasn’t changed, apart from that error in the arc’s direction.

Yes, we need to wait for the new maps before changing :+1:

Hello Daniel,

I also want to say thank you for your attention and very good documentation.:+1: France is still a ‘blank spot’ for me — because of the language. But I’d like to fly to France sometime.
Nice that you’re here. :slightly_smiling_face:

Flying greetings,

Karsten
