Hello everyone ![]()
Hello Sven,
which protocol are your Stratux and VFRnav connected with?
The audible warning is currently active only in the NMEA protocol (TCP). GDL90 (UDP) is coming in the next update.
I admit that this not-unimportant information hasn’t been documented until now
. Sorry about that.
the “decision” whether an audible warning is issued or not comes from the device/system that collects the traffic data (e.g. the Flarm, the AT-01, CCAS, etc.). This is defined and strongly recommended in the protocol specifications. In my opinion that also makes sense, since this is precisely the competence of the traffic source (or at least should be).
However, it will be obvious that this also results in a certain inflexibility and I fear that not every alert will always be appropriate. Nevertheless, I would first wait for your feedback and practical experience before implementing corresponding adjustments to the alerting in VFRnav. The only thing that will be implemented right away is disabling the alert on the ground, as suggested by Stefan.
Blue skies
Hermann
