Feature-Request: Record refueling and meter readings in flight log

Hello everyone,

It would be extremely practical if there were a function to record the amount of fuel added and meter readings (Hobbs meter) in VfrNav. The entered values should then be assigned by the app to a flight and displayed in the logbook. When exporting a flight, the data should also appear accordingly. That would help me tremendously with automating the recording of flight times.

Regards

Frank

Hello Frank,

…can you briefly explain what refuelling has to do with flight time logging?…Of course you surely have an idea in mind that I don’t yet see . Especially regarding meter readings etc.? Maybe it’s of interest to charter customers? Or do you want to analyze your aircraft’s fuel consumption in relation to the flights?

Happy flying,

Karsten

Yes to all questions

But more precisely: In our club charter software we record, in addition to the flight times, for each flight the start and end counter readings and the amounts of fuel added. Using the counter readings the system performs a plausibility check of the flight times, and from the fuel quantities it both calculates the aircraft’s average consumption and shows the approximate current tank level.

I want to automatically import these data from VfrNav via the flight data export (share function) into the charter system.

That’s exactly what the “Comments” field is for

In principle you could do it that way, but it’s far from ideal. The receiving app should be able to process the information automatically. Parsing free text is always awkward to impossible.

By the way, I just noticed that the fields “School trip”, “My role” and “Teacher” are not being exported.
