Flight planning ETA

Hello,

In Italy it can happen that the controller asks me for the estimated time of overflight of one of my upcoming waypoints. By default, however, VFRNAV only shows the ETA of my next or last waypoint. When calculating I can also see other times, but only after entering the speed and recalculating — and still no ETA. How about showing the ETA of all waypoints based on the current speed in the in-flight flight planning list?

Maik

I’m facing the same problem here in Italy. But the way you propose to solve it is a bit time-consuming — communicating the time ad hoc over the radio. I’d prefer the following solution: if you measure a distance on the map with two fingers during flight, the distance is shown in NM. It would be great if the bottom line, next to the NM, also showed the minutes required at the current speed. I think the programming effort would be minimal and this solution would be very practical!

I also see the flight time there; you probably need to select an aircraft with cruise speed in the flight planner for that. Having it based on the current speed would also be good.

Cheers

…that’s the way it is, Maik!

If a fully configured aircraft (LFZ) is selected, the time appears alongside the bearing and the distance.

For aircraft that have no speed configured, only the bearing and the distance appear. (As it should be.)

Happy flying,
