Hello everyone, on my Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab A6) the software sometimes doesn’t respond when you tap on a section of a checklist. Only after tapping several times does the checklist open. Could this be a bug, or could it be due to my tablet’s insufficient performance?
Hello,
…possibly a tempered glass on it? …in this case you have to pay attention to capacitive conductivity.
So far, nothing else of that kind is known.
Aviator greetings,
Karsten
No. No tempered glass. The other functions of the app work perfectly.
…hm. Do you only have one installation on this device? …I just tried it on an older phone, it works.![]()
I’ve pretty much already removed everything I could. Maybe I should just reset the tablet to factory settings.
..Which Android version is running on it?
…it was originally shipped with Android 6.
From Android 7 onwards, as far as I know, it’s now over for VFRnav as well.
Is it just the checklists? ![]()
…
Android version is 8.1.0. My checklists all have 6 sections with about 30 items each.
So basically your checklists do work.
Performance: …they’re only flat files that are generated for that.
Bug: I can’t reproduce it (works on my devices) and so far no one has reported this.
You can feel free to share the checklists to mail@flugbetrieb.com and cc me. I’ll try loading them on my end.
Clear skies,
Karsten
Hello Frank,
Unfortunately I still can’t reproduce the problem on my test devices.
I’ll take a closer look at the relevant part of the program. If you discover any further findings as things progress, please feel free to share them here with us.
Clear skies and have a pleasant Easter Monday
Hermann
I strongly suspect that it’s due to an issue specific to my tablet. I’ve also disabled several Samsung apps (unfortunately you can’t uninstall them). Since then the tablet has been responding a bit better. Maybe I’ll have to get myself a new tablet at some point, especially since Android 8.1 probably won’t be supported forever.
