Pib has crashed/aircraft is being removed

Hello forum, I have two topics:

  1. I wanted to test the PIB function and clicked the button in the top right, which I assume was the Layout button? Since then, my device (s24) has been merrily generating away without any result, and I can’t cancel it or click on the original button? All other functions continue to work.

  2. When I selected an aircraft and closed vfrnav, that aircraft used to be preselected. Now I have to select it afresh at every startup? Could this possibly be related to the synchronization function?

Hello @Ernifliegt

  1. Interesting! The two-column mode is indeed not entirely straightforward – so many thanks for your feedback on that! I will try to reproduce the behaviour on my device. Could you roughly tell me which route you used?

  2. Which system are you using? (Android/iOS)
Please check which VFRnav version is installed on your device. In version 4.18.3 this error should not occur.

Hello Hermann,

sure, thanks first of all for the quick reaction.

Re 1)

I created a flight plan, including weight/balance etc. Then I generated the PIB via the blue/white button at the bottom, that worked fine.

Then I clicked on the layout button at the top right, and since then the described endless loop has been going on.

I can’t abort it, I can’t get out of the menu either, and I can’t change the flight plan or do anything else. I hope I’ve described it in a reproducible way

Re 2) I’ve just installed version 4.18.3, it’s working again, the aircraft is back… simply sensational!

Addendum… I’m using Android on an S24

Hello @Ernifliegt ,

sorry - I phrased that badly. By “Route” I meant the flight path.

Does the error also occur with a very simple (two waypoints), short flight path?

That would help me narrow it down a bit.

Happy flying and have a nice weekend

Hermann

Hi Hermann,

sorry, didn’t think of the flight route, my bad. The route was Speyer – waypoint near Frankfurt – Kassel – Hanover. I’ve now shortened it to Speyer – Hanover, but the PIB loop is still running.

I’ve also created a completely new one with four waypoints. Everything works except for the PIB.

Thanks! :+1:

That actually enabled me to reproduce it.

I’ll have a look at it
