[Release] VFRnav 4.24

:small_airplane: VFRnav 4.24

VFRnav 4.24 introduces new connectivity options for external data sources and further improves radio integration and Bluetooth reliability.

:sparkles: What’s New

  • New: Support for external pressure data via the NMEA PGRMZ sentence
  • New: Serial data source support. VFRnav can now receive data not only via USB–RS232 adapters, but also through native serial interfaces on compatible hardware (e.g. SteFly)
  • New: FIS frequencies can now be sent to the radio directly from the airspace list
  • Improved: More stable Bluetooth Low Energy connections

:hammer_and_wrench: Fixes

  • Fix: Bluetooth Classic connection repaired
  • Fix: Incorrect “No GPS” warning when using an external GPS source

As always, if you encounter any issues or have suggestions for improvement, we’d love to hear from you — either by email or here in the forum.

Blue skies and safe flying! :airplane:

Hello Hermann,

unfortunately the status of the external data sources (Bluetooth) keeps switching from connected to not connected. The Garmin GLO2 unfortunately does not establish a connection to VfRnav & CCAS after the update.

Regards, Jan

Many thanks for this update! :+1:
This is a real benefit for our Dimona with SteFly Nav 70.

I was able to successfully test over the weekend:

  • serial connection via TTYS3 (Flarm) and TTYS7 (radio)
  • position data externally from the Flarm → no more “No GPS” message
  • send frequencies to the radio via a serial cable connection
  • barometric altitude display from the Flarm’s external pressure data

Keep up the great work on this project!

Regards,
Philip

Awesome update!

Unfortunately, the import of the checklists doesn’t work for me (iOS simply won’t let me select the files :/). Is this issue already known?

Best regards

Thank you for the fix to persist the display height of the airspace cross-section window (Luftraumschnittfenster)!
