Run VFRnav on a Mac?

Hello,

I’d really appreciate being able to use VFRnav on the Mac as well. Thanks to Apple’s ARM processors, iPad apps can also run on the Mac. For me the benefit would be consistently more comfortable flight planning than on the phone - I’m not entirely convinced by the web offering at charts.aero, and unfortunately keyboard input in the Safari browser isn’t possible.

Basically VFRnav does work on the Mac, but because there’s no GPS signal no maps are loaded. Could something be implemented to somehow get around this? With alternative apps, location detection also works fine on the Mac, so it should be possible somehow…

Regards,

Ansgar

Hello Ansgar,

have you already taken a look at the ( VFRnav) website

Have you looked at it? …That wasn’t the main point of your question, but do you already like it?

Blue skies,

Karsten

I already wrote that above …

…sorry:roll_eyes:…overlooked it. ……

Today I got VFRnav running on my Mac. No GPS, though, but it works for doing flight planning or editing checklists and then syncing them, which is much more comfortable than on the iPhone or iPad. Wonderful!!!
