With Version 4.14 VFRnav now has the capability to send control commands to an autopilot and actively control it.
We are aware that not every aircraft is equipped with an autopilot – nevertheless, this was a frequently requested feature.
We are therefore looking for pilots who would like to test this new feature .
Technical background:
Control is performed via a Bluetooth connection to the autopilot. Systems that already have Bluetooth integrated are currently of particular interest. Retrofit solutions for other devices will be offered at a later date via our shop.
VFRnav sends GPRMC and GPRMB data sentences according to the NMEA-0183 standard.
If additional sentences are required, we can gladly add them.
Anyone interested in testing can get in touch here in the thread or directly by e-mail at mail@flugbetrieb.com.
A very very interesting feature. Many thanks for that.
At the club we don’t have an autopilot. On the PA-28 it’s unfortunately permanently disabled. The ultralight is supposed to get one, but that will take a while.
I do know someone here at the airfield with a WT9 who also flies with VFRnav.
Hello everyone,
many thanks for the notifications and the many emails on the subject that I have received in the meantime.
After my holiday, I will collate and present the results to date
