On my small trike tablet VFR nav is of course already installed.. Now the Play Store says this app is not available for your device.. so I’m also not getting any more updates.. Could I get hold of the latest APK somewhere? Kind regards

Which device and Android version are you using exactly? If the Play Store reports an incompatibility, there is usually a technical reason behind it.
We do not currently offer an APK download.

It’s a Samsung Tab A SN-T280
Android 5.1.1 is installed on it
It’s practically the smallest tablet with built-in GPS; I’ve been flying with it since 2017
Until recently, it still worked with the updates, especially since Vfr Nav is installed on it..

That really is quite an old system.
I fully understand the fondness for keeping it running. I’m like that myself. And there are hardly any small devices left.
The thing is that the development of apps like VFRnav always needs to rely on modern new technologies and libraries! And at some point backwards compatibility simply isn’t possible any more. On Android that timeframe is, unfortunately, shorter than on Apple, for example.
Whether that applies exactly to you now, Hermann can perhaps say more precisely.

Android 5 is over ten years old and is no longer supported by modern libraries and frameworks.
What should also be noted: these old Android versions haven’t received any security updates for years and should under no circumstances be connected to the Internet.

I’ve also been flying TMG (Falke) for two years
And recently UL (WT9) too; I always conduct my flights with VFR Nav (smartphone), simply a great app that’s easy to use even during flights.
The latest updates/functions make it very exciting..it’s getting ever more comprehensive!
