VFRnav controls autopilot

Hello everyone,

with Version 4.14, VFRnav gains the ability to send control commands to an autopilot and actively manage it.

We are aware that not every aircraft is equipped with an autopilot – nonetheless, this was a frequently requested feature.

For this, we are looking for pilots who would like to test this new function :slightly_smiling_face:.

Technical background:
Control is handled via a Bluetooth connection to the autopilot. Systems that already have integrated Bluetooth are particularly interesting at present. Retrofit solutions for other devices will be offered at a later date via our shop.

VFRnav sends GPRMC and GPRMB data sentences according to the NMEA-0183 standard.
Should additional sentences be required, we can gladly add them.

A very very interesting feature. Many thanks for that.

At the club we don’t have an autopilot. On the PA-28 it’s unfortunately permanently disabled. The ultralight is supposed to get one, but that will take a while.

I do know someone here at the airfield with a WT9 who also flies with VFRnav.

I’ll give him a shout :grinning_face:
